Michael Houston, presidente de WPP en Estados Unidos, dejar\u00e1 su cargo y pasar\u00e1 a ocupar una posici\u00f3n de asesor s\u00e9nior dentro del holding, seg\u00fan ha adelantado Adweek a partir de una comunicaci\u00f3n interna enviada por la consejera delegada global, Cindy Rose.<\/strong><\/p>\n

El movimiento se produce en un momento de transformaci\u00f3n para WPP, que ha puesto en marcha el plan estrat\u00e9gico Elevate28<\/strong><\/a>, centrado en simplificar la estructura del grupo, integrar mejor su propuesta al cliente y recuperar el crecimiento. La compa\u00f1\u00eda present\u00f3 esta hoja de ruta el pasado febrero, con el objetivo de construir una WPP \u201cm\u00e1s simple e integrada\u201d<\/strong> y preparada para competir en la era de la inteligencia artificial.<\/p>\n

Houston, con m\u00e1s de dos d\u00e9cadas de trayectoria en WPP<\/strong>, asumi\u00f3 la presidencia del negocio estadounidense en 2022, tras ocupar durante a\u00f1os posiciones de liderazgo en Grey<\/strong><\/a>, donde lleg\u00f3 a ser CEO mundial. En su cargo actual, era responsable de representar al grupo en Estados Unidos, su mayor mercado, as\u00ed como de impulsar la colaboraci\u00f3n entre agencias, clientes y equipos.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan la informaci\u00f3n publicada en el medio Adweek, Cindy Rose ha definido la salida de Houston de la presidencia como una evoluci\u00f3n \u201cnatural y planificada\u201d dentro del nuevo modelo operativo del grupo.<\/strong> La directiva, que lidera WPP desde 2025, est\u00e1 acelerando la transformaci\u00f3n del holding para reducir complejidad, reforzar capacidades tecnol\u00f3gicas y responder a la presi\u00f3n competitiva de otros grandes grupos publicitarios y plataformas tecnol\u00f3gicas.<\/p>\n

El reajuste llega despu\u00e9s de un ejercicio complicado para WPP, con descensos en ingresos y una presi\u00f3n creciente sobre sus m\u00e1rgenes. En concreto, en el primer trimestre<\/a>, el holding descendi\u00f3 sus ingresos un 6,7% en el primer trimestre de 2026.<\/p>\n

En su actualizaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica, el grupo reconoci\u00f3 ca\u00eddas en varios mercados, incluido Norteam\u00e9rica, y plante\u00f3 una reorganizaci\u00f3n orientada a estabilizar el negocio en 2026, volver al crecimiento org\u00e1nico en 2027 y acelerar a partir de 2028.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
