El consejero delegado de la marca Volkswagen, Thomas Sch\u00e4fer, ha sido nombrado nuevo presidente del Consejo de Administraci\u00f3n de Seat, puesto que asumir\u00e1 a partir del 8 de julio. Sustituye a Thomas Schmall, al frente desde junio de 2021.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Junto con el presidente del Comit\u00e9 Ejecutivo, <\/span><b>Wayne Griffiths<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Sch\u00e4fer impulsar\u00e1 el crecimiento de <\/span><b>Cupra <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">y la transformaci\u00f3n de la empresa con el objetivo de poner a Espa\u00f1a y al mundo sobre<\/span><b> ruedas el\u00e9ctricas.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> En estos meses, durante la presidencia de Schmall, se han sentado las bases con proyectos innovadores como <\/span><b><i>el Future: Fast Forward,<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> la movilizaci\u00f3n de 10.000 millones de euros de inversi\u00f3n junto con m\u00e1s de 60 empresas espa\u00f1olas y la localizaci\u00f3n de una gigante factor\u00eda en Valencia del Grupo Volkswagen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Este nombramiento se enmarca dentro de los recientes cambios en la compa\u00f1\u00eda. El objetivo <\/span><b>es intensificar y acelerar la cooperaci\u00f3n dentro del grupo de marcas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, aprovechando todo el potencial de sinergias y reduciendo de forma sostenible los costes y la complejidad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLos pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os ser\u00e1n emocionantes y desafiantes para Seat y Cupra\u201d, ha declarado Thomas Sch\u00e4fer. \u00abLa compa\u00f1\u00eda impulsa proyectos estrat\u00e9gicos clave para todo el Grupo Volkswagen: el crecimiento del negocio, as\u00ed como la electrificaci\u00f3n de Espa\u00f1a, con el dise\u00f1o, desarrollo y producci\u00f3n de los modelos de veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos urbanos para nuestras marcas de volumen\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thomas Sch\u00e4fer tiene una amplia experiencia en la industria internacional del autom\u00f3vil. Ingeniero mec\u00e1nico, comenz\u00f3 su carrera en <\/span><b>Daimler AG <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">en Stuttgart en 1994, donde ocup\u00f3 varios puestos de alta direcci\u00f3n. Sch\u00e4fer se incorpor\u00f3 al <\/span><b>Grupo Volkswagen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en 2012, dirigiendo inicialmente la unidad de Producci\u00f3n Internacional del Grupo, donde era responsable de los proyectos CKD y de las negociaciones sobre nuevos centros de producci\u00f3n. Sch\u00e4fer se convirti\u00f3 en presidente y director general del Grupo Volkswagen en Sud\u00e1frica en 2015, y fue nombrado presidente del Consejo de Administraci\u00f3n de<\/span><b> \u0160koda Auto<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en agosto de 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sch\u00e4fer se incorpora al Consejo de Administraci\u00f3n de Seatt\u00a0 junto a la Dra. Ingrun-Ulla Bart\u00f6lke, el Dr. Oliver Blume, Daniela Cavallo, Luis Comas Mart\u00ednez de Tejada, el Dr. Stefan Pi\u00ebch, el Dr. Josep Piqu\u00e9 y Mark
